A More Visible Roadside Response Vehicle
When Roadside Responder arrives at an active scene, our vehicle does more than carry the equipment needed to help a customer. It becomes part of the safety setup around that scene.
Warning lights help draw attention to a disabled vehicle, a responder working near traffic, or a hazard that approaching drivers may not otherwise see in time. Directional lighting can help communicate the safest path around the scene, while scene and work lighting can help responders see clearly after dark.
Our Cybertruck’s professionally installed Whelen lighting package is designed to support this kind of roadside work. The goal is simple: help approaching traffic recognize the scene earlier, slow down sooner, and give responders and customers more room to work safely.
Why Professional Installation Matters
Emergency lighting is not an accessory that should be treated as an afterthought—especially on a modern electric vehicle. Professional lighting, traffic-direction equipment, work lights, and communications equipment require dependable power and careful integration.
Patrol EV brought that specialized experience to this project with vehicle-specific mounting and an auxiliary-power approach designed for professional equipment. Warning Lights Mean People Are Working
It is easy to see flashing lights and think only about the vehicle. But behind those lights, there may be a customer waiting for help, a family standing outside a disabled car, or a technician working around a tire, tow point, damaged vehicle, or roadway hazard.
Every active roadside scene deserves space. The lights on a service vehicle are an early warning that something is happening ahead and that drivers should prepare to safely adjust their speed and position on the road.
Slow Down, Move Over
When you see warning lights, please take a moment to think about the people at the scene. If traffic and road conditions allow, move into the lane farther away from the shoulder. If you cannot safely change lanes, reduce your speed and pass carefully.
Stay alert for people, equipment, open doors, vehicles entering or leaving the shoulder, and conditions that may not be visible until you are close to the scene. Florida’s Move Over law provides the current official guidance for drivers.

- Slow down early and avoid sudden braking.
- Move over when it is safe to do so.
- Keep a safe distance from the shoulder and stopped vehicles.
- Put distractions away and keep your focus on the road.
